I am not surprised to see Penrose in Colorado Springs make the list; I heard that it is ranked one of the top 50 hospitals in the country. Our friends wanted to relocate five years ago out of the dreary northeast with their two young children and evaluated places all over the country. And guess what? Of all the cities that they considered, they choose Colorado Springs because of the high rated healthcare and of course the fantastic lifestyle. So now they are humming John Denver songs and sending lots of postcards. Any docs listening? This is one fine place to take a locums job - you can spend a half day fly fishing the Colorado and still get nine holes in before dark. Nice.
